CHRISTIAN

Wave of Grace Ministries is a Christian church firmly rooted in faith. It is founded on Jesus Christ, the Son of God, and follows His teachings in its beliefs and practices.

PROTESTANT

Wave of Grace Ministries is based on the principles of Protestantism, though it does not strictly follow any particular leader of the Protestant Reformation. The ministry firmly supports:

• Justification by Faith

• The Priesthood of All Believers

• The Authority of the Bible

• Religious Freedom

• The Separation of Church and State

It opposes the excesses and misuse of church rituals and dogmatic practices.

FOUNDATIONAL

Wave of Grace Ministries follows these five foundational key Christian beliefs:

1. The Bible is without error and completely trustworthy.

2. Jesus was born of a virgin and is fully God.

3. Jesus died to take away the sins of the world.

EVANGELICAL

Wave of Grace Ministries aligns with the basic statement of faith of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE), the largest evangelical organization in the United States. Members of the NAE adhere to a shared statement of faith. Wave of Grace Ministries is positioned within the mainstream of Evangelical Protestantism.

WESLEYAN

Wave of Grace Ministries follows the teachings of John Wesley, focusing on practical holiness and the life-changing power of grace. Core Wesleyan beliefs include:

• The Universality of God’s Grace: It is available to everyone who responds with faith.

• Free Will: Rejecting determinism, it affirms that each person can choose to accept or reject God’s offer of salvation.

• Entire Sanctification: This is a second act of God’s grace, empowering believers to live holy and dedicated lives in obedience to His will.

• Practical Holiness: Demonstrating love for God and others through active service and a commitment to sharing the gospel of Christ.

• The Primacy of Scripture: The Bible is the inspired Word of God and should be interpreted with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, using sound reasoning, Christian tradition, and personal spiritual experience.

PENTECOSTAL

Wave of Grace Ministries embraces the spiritual experience known as the baptism of the Holy Spirit. This experience is similar to what the early Christians encountered on the day of Pentecost, often called a Pentecostal experience. It enriches the Christian life by empowering believers to be effective witnesses of Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. A key belief of Wave of Grace Ministries as a Pentecostal church is that speaking in other tongues, as enabled by the Spirit, is the initial evidence of the baptism in the Holy Spirit.

CHARISMATIC

The charismata (Greek for "gifts") or gifts of the Spirit are a key part of the life and ministry of Wave of Grace Ministries. These gifts are grouped into three categories: (1) gifts of understanding, (2) gifts of power, and (3) gifts of speech or inspiration.

Gifts of understanding include the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge, and the ability to discern spirits. Gifts of power include faith, miracles, and healing. Gifts of speech or inspiration include prophecy, speaking in tongues, and interpreting tongues. The Holy Spirit gives these gifts, and those who believe in their validity are often referred to as charismatic.
